The Campaign for Historic Trades
The Campaign for Historic Trades has been recently approved by the Department of Labor as the sponsor of a Group Program with the following historic trades apprenticeships:
- Deconstruction Technician
- Historic Window Technician
- Preservation Carpenter
They will be hosting an information session on October 15th from 12pm to 1pm.
This info session is designed for individuals interested in becoming apprentices. The Director of Historic Trades, Natalie Henshaw, will provide an overview of the apprenticeships and how you can become a registered apprentice.
Raising The BAR
re you interested in EARNING while you LEARN? Would you like to be a carpenter, bricklayer, electrician, plumber, or another member of the high-demand skilled trades? This is the program for you!
The Baltimore-D.C. Metro Building Trades apprenticeship readiness program is a 6-week class offered Monday through Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm. Classes begin in February. This program invests in the next generation of union construction workers and offers a ladder of opportunity into the middle class through the union construction trades for participants and their families.

The purpose of this program is to provide proper and uniform training for persons who desire to become skilled journeymen through an orderly method of improving the mechanical skill and technical knowledge of apprentices in this industry.
Requirements
- It is a five (5) year apprenticeship with four (4) years of schooling. Apprentices are assigned to work for one of our signatory contractors and attend school 22 days out of the year at our training facility.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is preferred
- Age 18 or over Good physical condition. No respiratory problems.
